ASSIGNMENTS

Assignments constitute an integral component of the Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA) system and are designed to promote independent learning, critical thinking, analytical ability, problem-solving skills, academic writing, and subject-specific competencies among students. In accordance with the provisions of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020, assignments emphasize experiential learning, application of knowledge, multidisciplinary perspectives, creativity, communication skills, and the development of higher-order cognitive abilities.

Students shall complete and submit assignments prescribed for the respective course(s) within the stipulated time schedule notified by the concerned department or course instructor. The nature, number, and evaluation of assignments shall be governed by the Academic Regulations, Course Structure, and Scheme of Examination applicable to the respective programme.

For programmes and courses where Learning Management System (LMS) facilities are implemented by the Institution, assignments, project topics, case studies, practice exercises, and other learning resources shall be uploaded periodically on the College LMS. Students are required to access the LMS regularly, download the assigned work, complete the assignments independently, and submit them within the prescribed deadlines through the notified mode.

Assignments shall serve not only as an instrument of internal assessment but also as a means of strengthening conceptual understanding, enhancing research aptitude, fostering digital learning, improving communication and presentation skills, and developing professional and lifelong learning competencies envisioned under NEP-2020. Failure to submit assignments within the prescribed schedule may affect eligibility for internal assessment marks, subject to the provisions of the applicable Academic Regulations and Examination Ordinances.
